Claflin Basketball Defeats Miles College for its Fifth Straight Win
Birmingham, Ala. (Claflin) – The Claflin University men’s basketball team defeat Miles College, 76-72, in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) matchup in at the Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham, Ala.
The win is the fifth straight for the Panthers who improves to 9-4 overall and 4-1 in the SIAC.
Miles falls to 3-10 overall and 1-1 in the SIAC.
Ryan McNeill-Moses paced Claflin with 16 points. Benjamin “Trey” Williams scored 14 points, Austin Lawton scored 11 points and Trevor Dantzler came off the bench to score nine points.
Miles was paced by Joshua Johnson with a game-high 20 points. Joshua Samuels and Henrique Cistrunk scored 14 points each and Shaquille Cook pulled in six rebounds for the Golden Bears in the win.
Claflin will return home next Monday, Jan. 9 when they host LeMoyne-Owen in a SIAC match up. Tip-off is set for approximately 7:30 p.m. in Tullis Arena on the campus of Claflin University.
