Here’s Chief Meteorologist John Farley’s forecast outlook for the possible wintry mix this weekend in the Midlands.
Rain Friday overnight into Saturday morning: For most of the night with a slow change-over to sleet and snow moving in from the northwest. In the end, snow accumulations could reach as much as 3 or even 4 inches north and west of Columbia (places like Newberry and Winnsboro). Since the turn-over to sleet and then snow will take a long time to happen nearer to Columbia, the accumulations will be much lower. And well south of Columbia will see no accumulation at all – just some flurries.
