Woman killed after crashing into tree identified, 2 children injured
LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)- The driver killed after crashing into a tree Sunday Afternoon has been identified.
The Lexington County Coroner, Margaret Fisher, said Kathryn B. Ellison of Leesville, was killed when she ran off the road and hit a tree.
Ellison was traveling eastbound on Corley Mill Road near Woodmill Way around 12:48 p.m. when she ran off the right side of the roadway with two children in the backseat.
Troopers said Ellison was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene from her injuries.
The two children were transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries. Both of the passengers were wearing seat belts.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol as well as the Lexington County Coroner’s Office will continue to investigate the accident.
