2 Hospitalized After Columbia Duplex Catches Fire
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)- Fire officials say two people were taken to an area hospital after a duplex caught fire Sunday morning.
Captain Brick Lewis, with the Columbia Fire Department said the fire happened at a two story duplex in the 100 block of Lindevon Lane around 5:30 a.m.
Firefighters said once on the scene, the duplex had heavy fire and smoke. It took fire officials about an hour to put out the fire.
Two of the four residents who lived in the home were transported to the hospital.
There is no word on the condition of the victims at this time. Brick said all four occupants were displaced.
The cause of the fire is unknown. Richland County Fire Marshal’s are investigating.
