Fatal Wreck Shuts Down Northbound Lanes on I-77 Near Blythewood

BLYTHEWOOD S.C. (WOLO)- All northbound lanes are shut down at mile marker 28 near Blythewood after a fatal accident Monday night, Troopers with SCDOT  said.

Authorities say a multiple car accident happened on the northbound lane of I-77 around 9:00 p.m.

At least one person has been confirmed dead.

Drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes due to backed up traffic.

The SC highway patrol, along with the Columbia Fire department are currently on scene.
