Columbia Man Dies After Crashing Into Guardrail on US 178

SALUDA COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)- A man is dead after a one vehicle crash Monday night in Saluda County.

Troopers say the wreck happened at 10:15 p.m. on US 178, 3 and a half miles east of Saluda.

A 39-year-old man from Columbia was driving west on US 178 when he ran off the road and lost control. Troopers said his vehicle overturned and stuck a guardrail on the left side of the highway.

Officials said the driver was transported by ambulance to Lexington ER, where he died from his injuries.

The man was not wearing a seatbelt and was not ejected from his vehicle.
