Historic Columbia Honoring Black History Month

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)- Historic Columbia is making sure you get a chance to brush up on your history this February.
All throughout Black History Month the organization will be honoring the rich history of local African-American people, places and moments in the Midlands.
From educational lunch sessions, to visiting historic African American Sites.
“The African American Community shaped the history of Columbia,” Director of Education, James Quint said. “So exploring this history is really important to us and telling the story of how they built the city that we have today.”
Organizers said they are always looking for volunteers to help out with events. Click here to learn more about volunteering, or call 803-252-1770 extension 24.
