Midlands Jewelry Store Turns Vandalism in V-Day Campaign

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)- A Midlands jewelry store is making the best out of a bad situation after a man tried to shatter their storefront window with cement Tuesday morning.
Surveillance video taken outside of the Unforgettable Jewelry store on Devine Street around 5:30 a.m. captured the whole thing.  In the video you can see the suspect hit the window with an object.

The owner said until it’s fixed, they’re going to incorporate it into their Valentine’s day campaign.

“We all just got together and we thought, you know, let’s turn negative situation into something that’s more positive and came up with that,” owner Bill Hrisko said. “We’ve gotten a lot of smiles as people walked by and laughs and people coming in to ask if we’re okay.”

Hrisko said he would like the suspect to be behind bars.
