COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)- Dozens of South Carolinians put their cooking skills to the test at the Palladium Society’s Chili Cook Off on Saturday.
The 19th annual Palladium Society Chili Cook off was held at Music Farm in Columbia.
Event goers got to listen to live music and taste a variety of chili recipes that were judged by local celebrities.
“I mean it’s intense, the chili cookoff,” Co-Chair of the Chili Cookoff, Lauren Dillon said. “People get really serious about it and they’re pretty competitive. We’ve got great judges and we always have a people’s choice award, and that’s always a really fun award to kind of, award to the individual everyone loves most.”
This years first place winner was ‘The Magically Delicious Unicorn Dishes’ group. They also won the people’s choice award.
Second place went to ‘The Jerk’, third place went to ‘Ole Timey’s Famously Fowl.’
The hottest chili was ‘Nuclear Meltdown.’ Best Veggie Chili went to, ‘Four Bean, Five Alarm.’
Proceeds from the cook off event benefit Historic Columbia.
