Passenger Killed After Vehicle Crashes Into Tree in Sumter

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)- A one vehicle crash in Sumter resulted in a fatality Sunday morning.

The crash happened around 11:45 a.m. on St Paul Church Road. Troopers said the driver of a 1983 motor home was traveling on St. Paul Church road when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a tree.

Authorities said the passenger was not wearing a seat belt and was killed as a result of the crash.

The driver was also not wearing a seat belt and was airlifted to Palmetto Richland Hospital in Columbia, according to Troopers.
