RCSD ‘Showing Love’ to The Community Before Valentine’s Day
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)- ‘Love thy neighbor’ is the old saying being brought to life by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Ahead of Valentine’s day sheriff’s deputies decided to spread love Monday evening by giving back to the community.
Deputies handed out 40 free Chick-Fil-A gift cards to residents who live on Aster Street and Aster Court. Officers said this is a small gesture to show the love, support and appreciation that the department has for its residents.
“We want to make this place better,” Capt. Curtis Wilson said. “We want to make it a place where families can live without the fear of crime. We want to build a connection so that therefore when we come, they’ll be able to talk to us and then also of course find out what’s going in the neighborhood so that therefore again, we can make this area a nicer safer place to live.”
It wasn’t all about chicken Monday, while giving back, deputies helped the kids fix their bike.
