Trump Supporters Rally on President’s Day
LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)-On Presidents Day roughly 40 Trump supporters gathered in one of the most conservative counties in the state.
Many of the rally goers say it’s time for Americans to start supporting the President.
“I came to support my President,” Pro Trump Rally Attendee, June Suber said. “I am so excited that Donald Trump is President.”
The rally much different from the anti- trump protest. For hours Trump supporters rallied in a parking lot on South Lake Drive in Lexington to back the Presidents views on certain issues.
“We need that wall, we’ve got to protect ourselves from just anybody walking across this country,” Suber said. “A lot of bad people have came across this country.”
“He says he wants to stop the violence and secure the boarder, that’s common sense,” Pro Trump Rally Attendee, Steve Moroz said.
The Trump Rally gained attention of drivers, and people of all ages. Supporters holding up signs and endorsing a man they say is fit for the job.
“I’ve never seen a President work as hard,” Suber said. “The day after he became President he was up and running, he works extremely hard and he is going to make this country great again.”
Organizer Monica Schmitz said she got the idea 15 days ago and didn’t expect a turnout like this.
“I was talking to my good friend and said we should do something for Presidents day, lets get a flag and a sign and come out here,” Schmitz said. “This is a busy intersection we live close to and let’s let everybody know we support our commander and chief.”
Attendees hope this rally sends a message to anti-trump protesters.
“They need to let him be in power, do what he wants to do, while staying within bounds of the constitution, and lets root for America together,” Moroz said.
Many Trump supports said he is a relatable president, and hopes that others change their views.
