
ATLANTA – The Benedict College women’s basketball team has earned the No. 1 seed for the 2017 SIAC Basketball Championship and will have a bye until
1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham, Ala.
The Lady Tigers earned their third consecutive SIAC East Division title by going 18-7 overall and 14-1 in the SIAC.
Benedict, the defending SIAC Tournament champions, will face the winner between Kentucky State, the fourth seed from the West, and Albany State, the fifth seed from the East. That game is Monday at 2:30 p.m. Central, with the winner advancing to take on Benedict at 1 p.m. Central on Wednesday.
The winner of that quarterfinal matchup would have a break, and would not have to play until the semifinals at 1 p.m. Central on Friday. The championship game is scheduled for 4 p.m. Central on Saturday, March 4.
