Man with Three Prior DUI Convictions Arrested Again

Ramon Orlando Alvarenga-Rodriguez
KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – A man with a lengthy DUI and criminal history was arrested over the weekend after authorities say his reckless driving caused other motorists to run off the road.
Ramon Orlando Alvarenga-Rodriguez is charged with driving under the influence, driving without a driver’s license and open container.
On February 25, just before 9 p.m., Rodriguez, an undocumented immigrant, tried to flee on foot when a Elgin police officer tried to stop him at a convenience store after he was spotted by a Forest Acres police officer running vehicles off the roadway.
Elgin and Forest Acres police officers were able to apprehend Rodriguez, who then allegedly provided the officers with false information.
A Spanish speaking Camden police officer was able to help identify Rodriguez, who authorities say uses 8 aliases and 8 different dates of birth.
Rodriguez has previously been arrested in Charleston for DUI in 2015.
The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office say they contacted El Paso Intelligence Center and the Immigration Enforcement Unit.
Authorities say Rodriguez had been deported three times and was in the US illegally.
Rodriguez has also been arrested for felony DUI resulting in death, shoplifting, open container, illegal entry, criminal domestic violence, driving without a license, carless operation of a motor vehicle and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
