Organizations Join Forces to Educate Authorities on Human Trafficking

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The Richland County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (RCAHTS) and Lighthouse for Life are setting aside three days to help state law enforcement better identify victims of sex trafficking.

The organizations are holding a conference ending this Wednesday, March 1. The conference will cater to authorities from around the state. Seven speakers are scheduled to speak throughout the week.

“One of the things I am really hoping is that it changes their perspective, that it’s no longer the perspective that prostitution is a choice. There’s no such thing as a child prostitute,” said Vicki Jackson of RCAHTS.

If you suspect someone may be a victim, call the National Human Trafficking Resource Center at 888-373-7888 or contact local law enforcement.
