Jake Bentley Updates Gamecocks Spring Ball
After returning from Spring Break, Carolina football is back at work following their spring schedule. The Gamecocks’ offense spoke for the first time on Monday since practice began in late February.
According to head coach Will Muschamp, Quarterback Jake Bentley was said to be in competition for the starting job with fellow rising sophomore Brandon McIlwain before the spring started. Yet on February 28, McIlwain decided to transfer from USC, making that decision public on March 1.
Bentley discussed the departure of his friend and fellow signal caller with the media Monday. Click the video above from ABC Columbia Sports to hear his thoughts on the move, spending spring break with TE Hayden Hurst in Jacksonville, OrTre Smith’s development, and more.
