Finebaum Visits the Vista for Historic Gamecocks Weekend
Carolina basketball has captured the attention of the SEC as both the men and women advanced to the Final Four. While Dawn Staley’s team is in Dallas and Frank Martin’s squad is in Arizona, the voice of the conference was in downtown Columbia Friday.
Paul Finebaum hosted his ESPN radio show, which is syndicated on the SEC Network, at “Carolina Ale House” in the Vista, getting the full experience of the Gamecocks’ historic and simultaneous runs to the Final Four. “The Paul Finebaum Show” is the first program of a full SEC Network slate taking place right in the Midlands. “SEC Now”, one of the station’s flagship programs, also aired at the restaurant Friday and will return on Saturday (11 p.m.)
The busy day begins when the network will show the Garnet and Black Spring Game at Williams-Brice Stadium (noon) and continues with the Texas A&M-USC Softball game (2 p.m.).
ABC Columbia Sports caught up with Finebaum to hear his thoughts on this special time for the garnet and black, year two of the Will Muschamp era, and his ESPN colleague Tim Tebow’s baseball career set to begin with the Columbia Fireflies this week.
