Sinkhole Forms in Columbia After Storm

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Storms bringing winds and rain Wednesday flooded streets in downtown Columbia.

A sinkhole formed at the intersection of Assembly and Lady.

Columbia Police barricaded the area as crews began to repair the street.

Also, crews worked to Evacuate residents on Read Street due to the flooding.

Cars were stranded in a flooded roadway at Pickens and Taylor Wednesday afternoon.
