South Carolina Local McGirt Making the Most of his Masters Debut

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WOLO) — Boiling Springs resident and Wofford alum William McGirt is taking part in his first ever Masters, but he sure isn’t playing like it.

The 37 year old is one of only nine players in the field to post a score under par through the first to rounds at Augusta National Golf Club.

While McGirt won at Memorial last season and had seven Top-10 finishes in 2016, including the PGA Championship, he’s performed at a high level on a stage with a spotlight that’s only going to grow bigger through the weekend. But halfway through the first major of the year, McGirt feels like he’s playing with no pressure.
