Midlands Kidtrepreneur Needs Your Help to Win $10K Grant

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)- A 10-year-old kidtrepreneur from the midlands solved the problem of disappearing hair barrettes, but now this young CEO says she could use some help to keep business booming.

Gabrielle Goodwin has been getting a lot of request for her GaBBY’s Bows collection, which is making it tough to keep up with the high demand.

Goodwin has become one of 10 finalist in Barbara’s Bakery Kidtreprnuer search, and the only one from South Carolina. If Gabby wins the competition she will win $10,000 for her business.

“This is very timely for us because we have just entered into partnership with 50 Once Upon a Child Stores in 16 states including our local Once Upon a Child store here in Columbia,” Gabrielle’s mom, Rozalynn Goodwin said. “We were able to fill those initial orders but we’ll need help to fill additional orders.”

“It feels good because people are supporting me and that helps bring my confidence level up,” Gabrielle said. “Nothing is going to stop me.”

Gabby says she hopes to inspire others to go after their dreams

“Never give up, keep trying, and no matter what happens you’re going to be ok,” Gabrielle said.

“To see our seemingly shy 7-year-old girl evolve into this very confident 10-year-old girl and command stages when she speaks when she goes around the world, that has been the most rewarding part of this entire journey,” Rozalynn said.

Voting ends on Friday, but you can vote here once a day until April 14th.
