USC Graduates Hope to Make Prom Easier With Tuxedo Rental Startup
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)- A group of recent USC graduates is helping young men look great without them having to step foot outside their high school.
Tux on Trux began as a startup catering to students going to prom at Irmo High School. Over a year later, the company has expanded, servicing 20 high schools and several college campuses in South Carolina.
“Every kid loved the idea so after we hit Irmo, we said maybe we should talk to the colleges and go to the fraternities because they’re all wearing tuxedos and they’re all busy,” said Tux On Trux COO Jonathan Peterson. “We were all college students at the time and we immediately started tapping in to the different fraternities and we blew up at USC last year.”
The Trux associates drive to the schools to fit students for their full suit and shoes.
“If you value your time, you’re going to choose us. Any other place, you’d have to go there three times. You make a trip just to go there, stand in line just to get fitted,” said Jacob Eddington of Tux on Trux’s high school divison.
To make the offer even better, Tux on Trux will come to you to pick your suit up after the big dance is over. Tuxedo prices range between $160 and $190. Delivery and pick up are included in the price. You can order your tux by visiting tuxontrux.com.
