Items Missing From Columbia Teen’s Murder Scene

Teen Found Shot and Burned Missing Backpack, Sneakers and hoodie

LEXINGTON, SC (WOLO)- Deputies say several items that a Columbia teen was wearing before he was shot and burned to death are missing.

Surveillance video shows 18-year-old Keon Brantley walking through his apartment complex the night he was set on fire wearing a black backpack, hoodie, and carrying a large box that contained an AK-47, according to authorities.

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department Captain Adam Myrick says within an hour the teen was found  by the Columbia Fire Department in a wooded area near the Paces Brook Apartment complex, which is a mile from his home.

The LCSD is investigating Brantley’s death as a homicide. Authorities say Brantley was treated for a bullet wound and burns before dying in an apartment complex parking lot close to where firefighters encountered him.

Investigators want the public’s help finding the teens backpack, hoodie and sneakers.
