Passenger Dies After Car Rear-Ends Truck at Traffic Light

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, SC (WOLO)- One person is dead and several others were taken to the hospital after a driver rear-ended a truck at a stoplight.

Troopers say the crash happened at 5:45pm Saturday evening at the intersection of US 321 and SC 213, just 2 miles south of Winnsboro.

Authorities say a Toyota Fortuner was sitting at a traffic light on US 321 when the driver of a 2016 Toyota Corolla crashed into its back. One of the passengers inside the Corolla was airlifted to Palmetto Richland were he died. The other three passengers suffered non-life threatening injures.

Troopers say all of the occupants inside the Fortuner were transported to a local hospital by EMS and were treated for their injuries.
