44-Year-Old Suspect Arrested in 2014 Killing in Calhoun County

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – A Gaston man was arrested in Richland County charged with the shooting death of a Columbia man two years ago.
Calhoun County Sheriff Thomas Summers said 44-year-old Derrick Mills was taken into custody early this morning at a home in Eastover.
Mills is accused of fatally shooting 38-year-old Charles Tremone Brown on December 13, 2014.
The incident occurred on Falcon Lane in the Sandy Run community.
Sheriff Summers said his deputies were assisted by the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Mills is being held at the Orangeburg-Calhoun Detention Center.
