Benedict Faces West Florida In NCAA Women’s Tennis Championship

COLUMBIA, S.C. (Benedict) – The Benedict College women’s tennis team will take on the nation’s sixth-ranked tennis team in the NCAA Women’s Tennis Championship.

Benedict (19-5), the two-time SIAC champions, were seeded sixth and will travel to the campus of Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla., where they will face West Florida at 10 a.m. on Monday. The Argonauts are 23-6 overall and won the Gulf South Championship for a record 17th time.

The winner of the Benedict vs. West Florida match will take on host Lynn (20-2), the nation’s second-ranked team, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Benedict is led by No. 1 player Karla Flores, who was named All-Conference and to the 2017 All-Tournament team. She was also the 2016 SIAC Player of the Year.Daniella Rios, who went undefeated in conference play in singles and doubles, holds down the No. 4 spot.

West Florida’s Paula Lopez, ranked 34th in the nation in singles action, holds down the No. 1 spot for the Argonauts.
