Officer-Involved Shooting Near Bush River Road Walmart Leaves Suspect, Victim Injured
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – An officer with the Columbia Police Department was involved in a shooting Wednesday at the Murphy gas station located near the Walmart on Bush River Road.
According to Chief Skip Holbrook, shortly after noon an armed suspect left the Walmart and ran towards the gas station.
The gunman shot a victim who was at a gas pump.
The suspect opened fire on officers who were called to the Walmart who was trying to apprehend the suspect, Holbrook said.
The entrance to the gas station remains closed due to SLED investigation.
Authorities say no officers were injured during the incident.
