The No. 11 Gamecocks have captured four regional titles since 2010, including the 2016 Baton Rouge Regional. Last year’s win made it back-to-back regional championships for Carolina, which will make its 19th-straight NCAA postseason appearance this spring. Gamecock standout Katelyn Dambaugh earned medalist honors in Baton Rouge last season after matching the then-program record with a 54-hole mark of 207 (-9), while sophomore Marion Veysseyre grabbed her first-career top-20 finish (T19, +3) at University Club.
Dambaugh notched her second-career victory this past weekend, capturing the individual title at the 2017 SEC Championship. The Goose Creek, S.C., native carded a final-round 66 (-6) to finish at 12-under 204, the lowest three-round total in tournament and school history.
Carolina finished tied for fifth after totaling its lowest 54-hole score (860, -4) at the conference tournament. The Gamecocks enter the NCAA postseason with five top-five finishes on the year, including a win at the 2016 Landfall Tradition.
