Student Files Civil Lawsuit Against Bar Owner

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – A University of South Carolina student is suing the owner of a bar he says needlessly assaulted him during a fight over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Daniel Wells faces a criminal assault charge.

But senior engineering student Ryan Chisolm’s civil lawsuit filed Wednesday seeks monetary damages for the injuries he suffered last month, including a broken jaw, nose and teeth.
