Teen Accused of Jumping Into Deputies Patrol Car, Hitting Acquaintance

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – An 18-year-old was arrested overnight after she allegedly jumped into a deputies running car and intentionally struck an acquaintance of hers, say deputies.

According to deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department the incident began Tuesday night when Nikenya Williams, threw a brick through a vehicle window located that was parked at Carrington Place Apartments located on Beatty Road.

When the victim walked over to RCSD’s Region 4 Headquarters to report the incident; Williams followed and jumped into a deputies running car and struck the female victim

She is charged with attempted murder, grand larceny, and malicious injury to real property.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Sheriff Leon Lott said deputies had to forcibly remove Williams from the vehicle at the Cypress Run Apartments during the arrest.
