COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–A shooting victim and a suspect are recovering Wednesday after an incident near the Walmart on Bush River, say police. The victim is doing well, say police.

According to Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook, shortly after noon they received a call about a person acting erratic.

Police say the suspect left the Walmart and ran towards a gas station.

Police say the suspect fired a gun and hit a person who was pumping gas.

The suspect and the officers then exchanged gunfire, Holbrook said.

SLED  is conducting an investigation, which is normal procedure.

Authorities say no officers were injured during the incident.
