West Columbia Man Sentenced to 24 years for Shooting Roommate

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) – Prosecutors say a 24-year-old man will spend the next half of his life in prison for shooting and killing his roommate through a closed door after being punched in the mouth.

Solicitor S.R. Hubbard III said in a news release that Jeremy Head pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the October 2015 killing and was sentenced to 24 years in prison. Prosecutors say Head argued with 23-year-old Alex Cano at the West Columbia home they shared before the shooting.
