Several Food Recalls Issued

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — You may want to double check your freezer before you make lunch or dinner plans. Two items that may be in your freezer right now are being recalled for fears over possible listeria.

Nearly 253 thousand pounds of frozen burritos by Green Chile Food Company are being pulled off store shelves. Officials say the items were shipped to distribution centers in California, Illinois, South Dakota and Oregon and were packaged between March and May 10th.

The second recall involves the Valley Innovative Services where a 130 thousand pounds of meat and poultry frozen entree’s sold nationwide are being yanked out of stores.

According to the Department of Agriculture the items in question were produced and packaged between May of 2016 to May of this year.

No illnesses have been reported for either of these items, but both companies say if you have any of these items NOT to eat them, but instead throw them out or return to the place of purchase.
