SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – A Sumter County man is behind bars accused of stabbing his girlfriend and threatening to harm other victims.

Leon Napoleon Davis, 39, is charged with attempted murder, four counts of kidnapping, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and two counts of first degree assault and battery.

The victim told authorities that Davis entered the Somerset Drive home  following an argument and the suspect began swinging a baseball bat.

Davis then threatened to cut the victim’s throat and began stabbing her, deputies say.

According to an arrest warrant, when a juvenile that was in the home tried to call for help, Davis threatened to attach the juvenile and three other witnesses.

Davis is being held at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center and is awaiting a bond hearing on July 7.
