Troopers: Myrtle Beach Man Caused Fiery Crash on 1-95
Robeson County, N.C. (WPDE) — The North Carolina Highway Patrol says a 68-year-old Myrtle Beach man who was driving a tractor-trailer on I-95 on Tuesday caused a multi-vehicle pileup that killed five people, including himself.
The crash happened on I-95 at 8 mile marker, between Rowland and Lumberton, around 12:30 p.m., according to a news release from Highway Patrol
preliminary investigation showed that all of the vehicles were traveling south on I-95 and were approaching a work zone where NCDOT crews were painting the roadway, the release said.
Investigators say a South Carolina family was killed in the accident.
