Person Saved by Fire Rescue After Being Trapped on Saluda River

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)- One person was saved after being trapped on an island Saturday afternoon.

The Columbia Fire Department conducted a water rescue after one person was trapped on an island in the Saluda River, downstream from botanical gardens.

Officials say no one was injured.

After the rescue boat crews found a group of three tubers in distress and provided aid.
Authorities encourage boaters to always use floating devices.
