UMBRELLA: Columbia’s game on Monday against Charleston was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up on June 10 as part of a doubleheader.

ABOUT LAST GAME: Mother Nature also played a significant role in Sunday’s action, which ultimately resulted in a 6-3 loss to the Power. The game was delayed before first pitch (scheduled originally for 2:05 p.m.) and also was halted just as the bottom of the fourth inning began. These delays lasted a combined two hours and 56 minutes due to rain. Columbia and West Virginia each used five pitchers in the game. After the second rain delay, Tim Tebow launched his third home run of the season and also smashed a double. Tebow has three RBIs in his last two contests – had just two RBIs from April 17 to May 19.

CANNON: Columbia’s Ali Sanchez has been tremendous behind the plate this season. The 20-year-old caught two runners who tried to steal second base on Sunday afternoon. Sanchez has thrown out 11 runners this season in 20 attempts (55% – second-best percentage in the South Atlantic League).

LOCKDOWN: Adonis Uceta and Max Kuhns have been very reliable for the Fireflies this season. Uceta leads the club with three saves and is also the only reliever on the team with two wins. Kuhns has thrown 13.1 scoreless innings over his last eight outings.

GET FAMILIAR WITH ‘EM: Monday marks the first of 20 games between the Fireflies and RiverDogs this season. Charleston is Columbia’s second-most frequent opponent in 2017 – only the Greenjackets have more matchups with the Fireflies (25).

  • The Fireflies enter Tuesday’s game with a 3.25 ERA (second in the league). The RiverDogs come in with a .271 batting average (second in the league).

FORMER GAMECOCK: Gene Cone had an impressive series against West Virginia over the weekend with seven hits in just four games.
