Univ. of South Carolina Unveils Rare U.S. Marine Films

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–You know have the chance to see what life was like in the Marines over the last sixty years, like never before.

The University of South Carolina has unveiled the U-S Marine Corps Film Repository. The Exhibit features newly restored film footage of Marines dating back to World War II.

According to USC officials, they will be able to preserve over 12 thousand reels of film from the U.S. Marine Corps thanks to a donation from Columbia residents Richard and Novelle Smith.

The films will be a part of the Moving Images Research Collection.
