Gamecocks’ Keita Transferring from Program

Gamecocks forward Sedee Keita announced on social media Friday that he will be transferring from USC after playing one season with Carolina.

The 6’9″ 240 pound rising sophomore played in 29 games this season. He averaged 9.6 minutes per game, 9th on Frank Martin’s Final Four team. The Philadelphia native averages 1.1 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.4 blocks in his lone campaign in Columbia.

Keita was a four-star recruit entering college, ranked 85th in the Class of 2017 by ESPN. He was suspended for the regular season finale at Ole Miss for a violation of team rules.

It’s the second departure from USC’s program in the last week. On Tuesday, guard TeMarcus Blanton announced he was ending his basketball career due to an serious hip injury suffered during his freshman year in the 2014-15 season.
