SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WOLO) — Ben Boulware was the leading tackler on Clemson’s national championship team in 2016, but the former Tigers linebacker went undrafted this year.

Then the Panthers came calling, and signed the star out of Anderson to a free agency deal.

On Wednesday, Boulware attended his first training camp in the NFL, desperately showing his coaches he belongs on an NFL roster.

“This is my life,” said Boulware Wednesday. “I’m trying to pay the bills, and hopefully one day support a family and this is the way I want to do it.”

NFL franchises have until 4 p.m. on Sept. 3 to trim their rosters down to 53 players.
