COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Will Muschamp’s defense in year two at South Carolina will be “faster and stronger” he says, unlike last year when the Gamecocks were a “southern bell defense”.
Muschamp’s unit finished 90th against the rush last season, a consistent program throughout USC’s 13 games in 2016.
This year, Carolina returns 6 defensive starters and 59.3% of their tackles from last season, and that’s not counting linebacker Skai Moore, who sat out 2016 with a herniated disc in his neck.
Look for improvement on the defensive line and the linebacking corps with two senior LB’s (Moore and Bryson Allen-Williams) returning to Carolina.
