Troopers Investigate Fatal Car Crash in Lexington County

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO) –

One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a Wednesday night collision in Lexington County.

Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol say it happened around 9:00 p.m. on Fernandina Road near Piney Grove Road.

According to authorities, a Toyota car heading south on Fernandina Road crossed over the center line, over corrected and was hit by an oncoming truck.

Troopers determined the driver of the car was not wearing his seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was wearing his seat belt and was transported to an area hospital for minor injuries.

State Troopers are investigating.
