Former Clemson wideout Sammy Watkins traded to Rams

BUFFALO, NY (WOLO) — The Buffalo Bills sent shockwaves through the NFL world Friday afternoon, announcing a trade to send former Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins to the Los Angeles Rams for cornerback E.J. Gaines and a 2018 second-round draft pick.

Watkins has been dealing with a foot injury that limited the wide receiver to just eight games last year after having an operation to repair a broken foot.

The Bills declined to pick up Watkin’s fifth-year option on his contract back in May, so his future with the organization was already in question.

Watkins was a first-round draft pick in 2014 and had 153 catches for 2,459 yards and 17 touchdowns in three seasons with the Bills.
