Watch: Peake scores game-winning TD in Jets’ Preseason Opener
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (WOLO) – Former Clemson wide receiver Charone Peake only had one catch for four yards in the Jets’ preseason opener Saturday night.
That single grab ended up deciding the game.
The former Tiger scored the only touchdown of the contest as New York beat Tennessee 7-3.
Peake, entering his second season, made 19 receptions for 186 yards in his rookie campaign.
With Brandon Marshall now on the Giants, Eric Decker on the Titans, and last season’s leading receiver Quincy Enunwa out for the season, Charone has the opportunity to earn a staring role with Gang Green’s offense.
Peake and the Jets play their second game of the preseason Saturday, August 19 at Detroit, taking on the Lions.
