Everyone In The Midlands Amazed By Total Eclipse
Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– It was like Christmas in August. Many could not believe the total solar eclipse was finally here.
“We’re going to watch the eclipse, and the moon is going to block the sun, and it’s going to be awesome,” Liran Riecatnel said.
“Well, you have to see an eclipse one time in your life. It’s on my bucket list so… I’m here to see it,” Frederick Pruselius said, who came all the way from Sweeden.
“The moon will block the sunlight,” River Thomas said excitedly at the zoo.
“It’s going to be awesome,” Jasmine Nunez, another Zoo goer said.
“I see kids enjoying themselves, adults enjoying themselves, and just people being excited,” Autumn Henley said.
It is an experience that’s ageless, this once in a lifetime event bringing multiple generations together.
“Everything leading up to it, everybody is talking about it. Talking about how we can forget about politics and what’s going on in Washington, and think about something positive,” Frank Nemec said.
Giving both young and old something to talk about.
“It’s really cool because the moon is going to be blocking the entire sun, and it’s going to go all dark and temperatures are going to drop very rapidly,” Jack Lucido said.
Everyone knew it was going to be a sight they’ll want to hold onto forever.
“Because it’s going to be cool watching it,” Gianna Parker said.
“The sun’s going to come down,” Mia Medeina said.
Of course, the sun did come back and it’s a memory many are not going to forget anytime soon.
