Former Bulldog Hargrave suffers second concussion of NFL career
PITTSBURGH (WOLO) – Former South Carolina St. star Javon Hargrave left the Steelers’ preseason game Sunday against Atlanta early with a concussion, according to an announcement from the team.
The defensive tackle’s injury took place in the first quarter.
The Bulldogs alum is set to begin his second pro season after appearing in 15 games as a rookie in 2016. He accounted for 27 tackles, two sacks, and recorded a forced fumble. Pittsburgh selected him in the third round out of the Orangeburg school where Hargrave racked up 37 sacks under Buddy Pough’s watch.
Javon also suffered a concussion as a rookie on December 4, 2016 in a 24-14 win over the New York Giants.
On Sunday, Hargrave recorded one tackle before exiting to injury in the Steelers’ 17-13 win over the Falcons.
