Gas Pipeline to South, Midlands Shut Down

Atlanta, GA., (WOLO, AP)– Harvey’s impact on South Carolina’s gas supply could come sooner than anticipated. Thursday Colonial Pipeline announced its plans to shut down a key line that supplies gas to much of the south due to storm-related refinery damage.
That line supplies nearly 40% of the south’s gasoline.
That same line ruptured in 2016 causing gas shortages throughout the Midlands.
No word on when it will reopen.
