Joyner leads upset over Dutch Fork

IRMO, S.C. (WOLO) – Gamecock commit and four-star QB Dakereon Joyner scored four rushing touchdowns to lead Fort Dorchester to an upset 41-25 win over Dutch Fork in a matchup featuring the top two 5A football teams in South Carolina.

The Silver Foxes beat the Patriots twice in 2016 on their way to the SCHSL title, including in the lower state championship game. Dutch Fork had not lost in their last 16 contests, dating all the way back to November 2015.

Dutch Fork will fall from their spot on top of the class 5A rankings while Fort Dorchester will be the new No. 1 team in next week’s state poll.
