Body of Missing Boater Found

Lexington, SC (WOLO) — The body of a former Columbia firefighter authorities say fell off his boat last week has been found.

Officials with the Department of Natural Resources tell ABC Columbia News they made a recovery from the Lake Murray,  Sandy Beach area around 10 Sunday morning.

According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher,  the remains found are believed to be those of  35 year old Durham Delara.

Authorities say Delara never resurfaced after falling overboard August 25th. His four year old daughter was discovered alone on the idling vessel after drifting ashore.

An autopsy to determine the exact cause of death has been set for Wednesday.
