Scam Alert: Storm Fraud Hotline

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — After any disaster there are always some opportunist looking to take advantage of when you are your most vulnerable. The disaster from Hurricane Irma is no exception.

The US Attorney’s Office is warning those in storm riddled areas to be on the look-out for scammers seeking donations for relief.

If you believe you’ve been a victim of fraud from someone using a natural disaster like Irma for personal gain, contact the National Disaster Fraud Hotline at
1-866-720-5721.
