SCDOT road closings due to Tropical Storm Irma

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) –

Officials with the South Carolina Department of Transportation have closed several roads in and around the Midlands. The closings are due to debris left from Tropical Storm Irma.

Here is a list of the latest County and SCDOT road closings:

County roads closed:

1. Tomahawk Road – Trees and Power lines down. Lexington-Richland School Dist. 5

2. 400 block of George Brown road – Lane partially closed due to flooding. Lexington School Dist. 1

3. 100 block of New Cassel Drive – Tree suspended on on power lines, partially blocking roadway. Lexington School Dist. 2

4. 200 block of Sugar Bottom Road – Road washed out. Lexington School Dist. 1

5. 100 block of Towe Road – Road flooded. Lexington School Dist. 4

6. 200 block of Beavercreek Road – Road washed out. Lexington School Dist. 4

SCDOT roads closed:

1. Highway 378 between Wise Ferry & Bruton Smith Rd – Power lines down. Lexington School Dist. 1

2. Dixiana Road – Closed between Pallet Drive and Frontage Road. Trees and Power lines down. Lexington School Dist. 2

3. Hebron Drive between US 378 & Leaphart Rd- Trees and Power lines down. Lexington School Dist. 2

4. Calk’s Ferry Road – 400 block between Hwy. 1 & Springhill Road. Trees and Power lines down. Lexington School Dist. 1

5. Juniper Springs Road, just North of the intersection with Two Notch Road – Trees and Power lines down. Lexington School Dist. 1

6. Killian Point Circle – Trees and Power lines down. Lexington-Richland School Dist. 5

7. Point View Lane – Trees and Power lines down. Lexington-Richland School Dist. 5

Remember, if a road has barricades, DO NOT DRIVE AROUND THEM! They are there for your safety!
